Searching for job is a job within itself and there are hundreds of thousands of people who are currently out of work.  Using certain search tactics will help you to find the right job at a quicker pace. 

Use active recommendations you have received such having your job references available and ready to go when a hiring manager asks to see your references.  This method works perfectly is you have a heavy and full job reference list and are applying for a high level type of job.  This also works well if you do not have a whole lot of career experience or just starting out. 

Consult with a job coach as many job coaches have worked with students over the course of many years and they have an extensive amount of knowledge about students’ personalities.  Job and career coaches have a plethora of references to employers. 

It’s very important to remain organized with your job hunting software by ensuring the information is correct on your cover letters and resumes.  Make sure you have entered in the information of where you have applied, what the job consisted of and if you have received any responses.  It’s important to be organized right from the start.  A simple organization idea is to use an Excel spreadsheet to put all of your contacts together.  This is very important for your job hunting, and be sure to include a follow-up section on the Excel spreadsheet with a phone call to the job positions you’ve made.
